What if you're never capable of meeting people's expectations?
While it can be hard to do, I believe you should always assess if the expectations that have been thrust upon you are fair and relevant. If they aren't, I don't find them worthy of meeting. I think a good measure of 'fuck off' is healthy, especially if it's towards people who barely know you.
